Abstract

Objective Using a method of serum pharmacology, the effect of louicera japonica thumb on the releasing of nitric oxide(NO) from normal and lipopolysaccharide(LPS) induced primary rat microglia cells was studied. Methods By Griess and 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2thiahiazoy1)-3,5-di-phenyl-tetrazolium bromide(MTT) test, the content of NO in the primary rat microglia cells in the presence or absence of LPS(1 mg/L) for 48h was examined. Results The results showed that the containing-serum markedly inhibited the releasing of NO in the primary rat microglia cells and stimulated cells by LPS.Conclusion These results indicated that the containing-serum possesses significant fuctions such as anti-inflammatory and immune suppression.
