Ecological Footprint Analysis on Sustainable Development of Jiangxi Province

Sustainable development situation in Jiangxi province from 2004 to 2010 was analyzed based on ecological footprint method.The results showed that since 2004,the per-capita ecological footprint,per-capita ecological capacity and per-capita ecological deficit of Jiangxi province had been increasing continuously.Based on the analysis on some ecological footprint relevant indexes such as ecological footprint intensity index,diversity index,social development index,it was concluded that Jiangxi province was in unsustainable development position.Analysis on the changing dynamic of ecological footprint of ten thousand Yuan GDP indicated that the utilization efficiency of resources had been improved.Finally,the causes of ecological deficit in Jiangxi province were analyzed.And countermeasures for reducing the ecological deficit to achieve sustainable development were proposed so as to provide reference for government policy formulation.
