Progress Review on Land Science Research in 2013 and Prospects for 2014

The purposes of this paper are to summarize the research progress of land science published in Chinese and international journals in 2013,and to figure out the main themes for the journal of China Land Sciences in 2014. The review is based on several digital databases,such as CNKI,Wanfang,Weipu,Elsevier,Springer,ProQuest. The results show that 1)there are many common focuses of the studies in 2013,including land property institutions and land acquisition,technologies of land use dynamic monitoring,ecological and environmental effects of land use change,theoretical and methodological innovation of land use planning,land market fostering and pricing,farmland protection,willingness of farmers on protection,benefits evaluation of land consolidation,and engineering RD,etc.,2)the differences between the domestic and international studies are due to three aspects,i.e.,property subjects,data sources,and research scales. The paper concludes that four themes will be the focuses of the journal of China Land Sciences in 2014,such as 1)land institutional reform especially market mechanism,2)amelioration of urbanization mechanism and exploring the new methods of spatial planning,3)quality improvement of cultivated land,and 4)academic development of land science itself.
