Diagnostic value of single umbilical artery of fetus with color Doppler flow imaging

Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of single umbilical artery of fetus with color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI).Method Umbilical cords of 3 086 pregnant women were studied with CDFI.The spread and number of umbilical vascular were recorded,also S/D and RI of umbilical arteries' blood flow were measured.Results 12 cases of fetal with single umbilical artery diagnosed by ultrasound before birth and 8 cases combined with other abnormality,another 4 fetuses didn't show evident abnormality after birth.All the cases were confirmed after childbirth.Conclusion CDFI can diagnose single umbilical artery correctly before childbirth and provide valuable information for diagnosing other combining abnormality.
