Abstract

English writing has been a headache for many Chinese college students. One of the key reasons is that they are not familiar with the English thinking pattern.This paper analyzes the phenomenon of Chinese negative transfer in college English writing from the levels of vocabulary,sentence and discourse.It is hoped that the analysis will make students aware of the discrepancies so as to pattern themselves on the English thinking and to compose idiomatic English writings.
