Abstract
Objective To compare the efficacy and side effects of venlafaxine combined with olanzapine in the treatment of somatoform disorder. Methods A total of 68 patients with somatoform disorder were randomly assigned into study group(34 cases) treated with venlafaxine combined with olanzapine and control group(34 cases) treated with with venlafaxine monotherapy for 6 weeks. The efficacy was measured with Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) and the smatization item of SCL-90,and side effects were evaluated with the Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS) at baseline and the 2nd,4th,6th weekend. Results The reduction rates of HAMD and smatization factor score of SCL-90 in study group were significantly higher than those in control group after treatment(P0.01).In the 2 th,4 th and 6th weekend of treatment, the scores of HAMD and smatization item of SCL-90 in study group were significantly lower than those in control group(P0.01 or P0.05).Compared with control group, the study group had higher effective rate(P0.05).There was no significant differences in score of TESS between the two groups and the side effects in the two groups were not serious. Conclusion Venlafaxine combined with olanzapine is effective in the treatment of somatoform disorder with high safety.
