Abstract

In the teaching of English, the immitation and transplantation of western culture is stressed, while the effect of native culture is not sufficiently emphasized. The teaching of English is given to emphasizing how Chinese people adopt western culture, but give inadequate attention to how to phrase native Chinese culture in English or how to communicate messages of Chinese culture in English. The Absence of native culture is a widespread issue. In cultural exchange the input of wstern culture is imporant;native culture is as important. The culture aphasia in cross-cultural communication is caused by 1) voice domination gained through powerful economic, political and military domination;2) single-direction Chinese culture broadcasting creates imbalance of cultural exchange.Incorporation of native culture in the teaching of English can be appraoched from three perspectives: seclecting representative and essential content of Chinese culture, enhancing the uniformity of English expressions of Chinese culture terms, enhancing research capability of Chinese culture and influence of Chinese language.
