Abstract
Objective:To study the relation between clinical index and prognosis and the level of vascular endothelial cell growth factor(VEGF) in serum of non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients before and after radiotherapy. Methods:VEGF serum of 39 patients with NSCLC and in 20 healthy individuals as control were analyzed with double sandwich in assay ELISA.Results:The level of VEGF serum elevated significantly before radiotherapy in NSCLC patients group as compared with the control(P0.01).The level of VEGF serum of Ⅲ Ⅳ stage of patients were markedly higher than Ⅰ Ⅱ stage's(P0.05).In contrast, sex, age and histopathologic type were not (P0 05).And the level gradually declined 0,2~3 months after radiotherapy (P0.01).The level of VEGF serum elevated significantly before and after radiotherapy in inefficienty(RN+PD) group as compared with the overall immediate response rate(CR+PD) group as compared with the overall immediate response rate (CR+RP)(P0.01),it were descended after radiotherapy, and CR+PR group was still high level state.9 patients occured to relapse or metastasis in 6 months after radiotherapy, and keeping the high level of VEGF serum of 8 patients,of 1 patient was elevated again after it descended. Conclusion:In the near future it was preferably curative effect for lower the level of VEGF serum.High level state of the level of VEGF serum can be occurrence to relapse or metastasis, and in the near future it was bad curative effect. The more late stages and the higher the level of VEGF serum, the worse effect of treatment. To check the level of VEGF serum changes in patients with NSCLC could help to determine the clinical stages, monitor the clinical course, curative effect and prognosis.
