Abstract
With the finite difference method,an analysis on slope stability by FLAC numerical simulation is presented. When the reduction factor achieves some value, the system reaches instability, the equivalent shearing penetrates from the base to the top of slope,a well defined failure shear stain zone is formed in the slope.According to the example of the open-pit,reducing the soil shearing strength parameter continuously, the destruction sliding surface is obtained by FLAC,it is believed that the FLAC shear reduction method can be applied in the open-pit slope stability analysis.
