Abstract

Only when typograhy was invented and widely used did copyright come into being.The use of typograph had tremendously improved the efficiency of copying and transmissing works.The conception of typograhy appeared early in China,but we fell far behind the Westerners in legislating on proctecting copyright.In the Qing Dynasty,with the entrance of the western culture,intellectuals constantly advocated innovation,under the pressure of which Qing government had to promulgate the first copyright law of China: Copyright Law of the Qing Dynasty.From then on,the development of chinese copyright changed,making copyright protection form local protection to national one,from being governed by man to being governed by laws.
