Review of the research on military requirements engineering

A requirement is a necessary attribute in a system.It is also a statement that identifies a capability,characteristic,or quality factor of a system in order that it is valuable and practical to a user.Military requirements engineering(MRE) involves the set of activities of ensuring the validity of military system,including gathering requirements,correcting requirements,and specifying requirements.In order to advance the research on MRE and improve the mechanism of military requirements generation,a review of the research on MRE is put up.The state-of-art of MRE is introduced in terms of military requirements development,military requirements management,military requirements verification and validation.And the methods and technologies are discussed.Related achievements and practical application are analyzed and summarized.The research indicates that the direction in MRE development is practicability,standardization and institutionalization.
