Abstract
RAPD,cytological and morphological analysis were used for the identification of interspecific hybrids in Dendranthema.RAPD results indicated that the hybrids produced specific bands of male parent or new bands absent in both parents.The results of cytological analysis indicated that chromosome number of F 1 hybrids was the average of their parents.The observation and statistics of morphology suggested that the hybrids showed interspecific morphological traits and some traits resembled more closely with the higher polyploidy parents.Some hybrids showed specific morphological traits of their male parent or unique morphological traits their parents did not possess.The morphological traits of hybrids between diploids and chrysanthemum cultivars varied in a large range,indicating that the polyploid cultivated chrysanthemum contained complexed genetic background.
