Abstract
Objective To investigate the ultrastructural changes of retina injured by ischemia reperfusion(RIR) in SD rats. Methods A model of RIR was accomplished in SD rats by increasing the intraocular pressure to 14.63Kp via cannulation into the anterior chamber. The ultrastructural changes of rentina were observed at the diffecent periods of reperfusion after 30min or 60min ischemia. Results After ischemia-reperfusion,the ganglion cells of retina showed that the karyotheca crimpled the karyotin agglomerated, the mitochondrion was vacuocated and the membranous disc of outer segment was damaged.Apoptosis appeared 72 hours of reperfusion after 60min ischemia and the longer had ischemia continued, the more serious was the reperfusion injury. Conclusions RIR can make serious damage to retinal ultrastructure.
