Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of the external application of 5% imiquimod cream combined with CO2 laser treatment on condyloma acuminatum. Methods 160 patients were divided into 4 groups (each group of 40 cases) according to the sequence of their visiting. The treatment group 1 adopted the therapy of external application of 5% imiquimod cream combined with CO2 laser treatment and the treatment group 2 only adopted the external application of 5% imiquimod cream. The control group 1 only adopted CO2 laser treatment combined with the external application of the excipient, and the control group 1 adopted the external application of 0.5% bamboo grass toxin combined with the excipient. Results The cure rates of treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 were 82.5% and 72.5%,which were significantly higher than 47.5% and 50.0% (P0.05) of the control group 1 and control 2 group respectively; The recurrence rates of treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 were 17.5% and 27.5%,which were significantly lower than 52.5% and 50.0% (P0.05) of the control group 1 and control 2 group respectively. The adverse reaction rates of treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 were 25.0% and 20.0% respectively, which were significantly higher than control group 1 and control group 2 (P0.05). Conclusion The clinical curative effect of the external application of 5% imiquimod cream combined with CO2 laser treatment on condyloma acuminatum is significant, which can quickly clear the wart body to effectively reduce the recurrence of disease and improve the clinical cure rate. Therefore it is worthy of clinical promotion.
