Abstract

Selective hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde to cinnamyl alcohol over CoFe/diatomite catalyst in fixed bed catalyst reactor was studied.Co loading, the addition of a small amount of Fe to Co/diatomite,reaction temperature, reaction pressure, variation of H2 flux, etc, were investigated.Reaction tests led to varieties in both CMA of conversion and selectivity for CMO.The experiments found that:the best Co loading was 12%(wt%),the best ratio of Fe/Co was 0.20(mol/mol),the best reaction temperature was 423K.The reaction pressure had apparent effect on activity and selectivity but higher pressure had only little effect on activity and selectivity, the best reaction pressure was 4MPa,the space rate had little effect on the selectivity to cinnamyl alcohol. The space rate was higher, the conversion of cinnamaldehyde was lower. The best space rate was lower.
