Abstract

Objective To improve the technique of rat single lung transplantation and establish a stable animal model. Methods The SD rats served as donor and recipients. In the donor operation, the heart-lung block was flushed in situ and harvested. The left pulmonary artery and vein were anastomosed using cuff technique.Left main bronchus was reconstructed with continuous suture of prolene. The graft function was monitored by thoracic X ray and arterial blood gas analysis. Results In 26 cases of single lung transplantation in rats, the operation was successfully carried out in 23 cases and failed in 3 cases with the successful rate being 88.5%.The survival rate was 100%.Conclusion The model of rat lung transplantation was established successfully with simple operation, which provided a basis for studying lung transplantation and immunology of lung graft.
