Abstract

Polysaccharides from Morinda officinalis were extracted by several kinds of physical and chemical methods and were identified by IR.The amount of polysaccharide was measured by using the sulfuric acid-phenyl hydroxide method of spect rophoto at 490 nm.By analyzing their polysaccharide, these methods were optimized in terms of their respective yield of extraction and purification rate. The result of the experiment showed that ethanol-water treatment is proved to be a good method for extracting polysaccharide from Morinda officinalis. The optimal conditions for preparation operation were 85% alcohol,0.4% Cetylpyridinium Chloride and 10% polysaccharide concentration in the solution. The yield of polysaccharides was 10.2 g per 100 g of Morinda officinalis.
