Abstract

Two maize varieties,Zhengdan 958 and Xundan 20,were selected as the materials to study the effect of salt stress on germination and seedling's physiology of maize in a simulative condition. The results indicated that water absorption and germination rate of the seed are negatively correlated with the salt stress. The contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein and proline of the seedling are higher in heavy salt stress than that in light salt stress.Influence degree of the salt stress is difference on the maize varieties.
