Abstract

[Objective]To investigate the application and effect of posterior fossa cranioplasty in the treatment for posterior fossa lesions.[Methods]The data of 58 cases with the posterior cranial fossa craniotomy and 35 cases with the posterior fossa cranioplasty were analyzed retrospectively.[Results]Among 58 cases of the posterior cranial fossa craniotomy group,40 cases of subcutaneous hydrocele with local swelling,14 cases of CSF leakage,15 cases of aseptic inflammation, and 5 cases of lower cranial nerve dysfunction. As for 35 cases of the posterior fossa cranioplasty group,no complications such as CSF leakage or lower cranial nerve dysfunction occurred except for that hydrocele and aseptic inflammation occurred in 2 cases and 3 cases respectively.[Conclusion]The posterior fossa cranioplasty can offer good brain protection and less postoperative complications of the posterior cranial fossa lesion, have good prospects for clinical application.
