Abstract
Aim: To investigate the expression and significance of E-cadherin and beta-catenin in endometrial carcinoma tissue.Methods: Immunohistochemistry SP method was used to detect the expression of E-cadherin and beta GAAB2 catenin in 58 cases of endometrial carcinoma, 32 cases of normal endometrium at proliferative phase and 22 cases of atypical hyperplasia endometrium. Results: The aberrant expression rates of E-cadherin and beta-catenin increased significantly from normal endometrium at proliferative phase,atypical hyperplasia endometrium to endometrial carcinoma tissue(P0.001, P0.05).The aberrant expression rate of E-cadherin was significantly related to its myometrial invasion, FIGO stage and lymph node metastasis,while that of beta-catenin was related to its pathological grade, FIGO stage and lymph node metastasis.Conclusion: Aberrant expression of E-cadherin and beta-catenin may play an important role in oncogenesis, invasion and lymph node metastasis of endometrial carcinoma.
