Abstract

This article puts the eighteen districts(counties) of Shanghai as the research object and the fifth and the sixth census as the data source. It uses the methods of population structure index,Lorenz curve and floating population accumulation index, combining with the means of GIS,to analyze the spatial distribution change of Shanghai's population. The results show that:(1)Total population of Shanghai grows quickly from 2000 to 2010,among which floating population is the main driving force.(2)The population of the center district grows slowly,of which the registered population has appeared the negative growth, and the inner suburb has become the region where population grows the fastest and the total is the largest.(3)The distribution of Shanghai's permanent population in global is more balanced.(4) The high accumulation region of Shanghai's floating population has transferred from the marginal zone of the center district to inner suburban.
