Clinical experience of Propex apex locator in canal working length measurement

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the accuracy of the Propex apex locator in canal working length measurement.Methods:Two hundred and ninety three root canals from 130 patients(157 teeth) were selected.Working length of each root canal was measured by Propex,and instrumentation and obturation were performed according to the working length.The accuracy was evaluated by radiological observation.Results:In measuring the working length of different tooth conditions and locations,the average accuracy of Propex measurement was high to 89.76%.Conclusion:The Propex apex locator can measure root canal length accurately and is significant in clinic.
