Abstract
With the rapid development of globlization and the process of information technolege,cities-and big cities,or Metropolitan area are playing very important roles in the 21 st century in the world.Metropolitan area has great advantages in that urban areas attract investment and create employment,boost the image of the city and fortune based economics of scale and stacking effect and ability.On the analysis of the experices of some mature Metropolitan area in and outside of china,some suggestions to push the development of Urumqi metropolitan area are put out.
