Effect of Mifepristone on perimenopausal dysfunction uterine bleeding

Objective To study the effect of Mifepristone on dysfunctional uterine bleeding in perimenopausal. Methods Sixteen patients with perimenopausal dysfunctional uterine bleeding received lower dose Mifepristone (10 mg/day for six months) . Pre - and post - therapy, thickness of the endometrium measured by B - ultrasonography, sera hormone concentration and biochemical evaluation related to the function of liver and kidney were analyzed. Results AD of the patients developed amen-orrhea, E2 reduced and no thickened of the endometrium during the treatment. The other items examined did not change obviously. Conclusions Oral low dose Mifeprostone is an efficient and feasible therapy for the perimenopausal dyefuntional uterine bleeding.
