Abstract

Objective To explore the efficacy of unilateral hemilaminectomy approach for the removal of the spinal cord tumors. Methods 138 cases of patients with spinal cord tumors were treated in our hospital from April 2009 to June 2011 were randomly divided into 2 groups,69 cases of the observation group, passing through the unilateral half spinal canal approach for surgical removal of the tumor.69 patients of the control group, line laminectomy surgery. After surgery were compared two groups of patients with surgical bleeding, operative time, hospital stay, surgical treatment and postoperative 6 months to 3 years, the recurrence rate and other conditions. Results The observation group patients with surgical bleeding, operative time and hospital stay were lower than the control group patients, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The total efficiency of the observation group patients(94.2%) was significantly higher in patients with total efficiency(85.5%),the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The observation group patients with spinal instability in a number of cases(1 case) was significantly less than that of the control group(7 cases),and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusions For the right patients, the efficacy of unilateral hemilaminectomy approach for the removal of the spinal cord tumors was good, rapid postoperative recovery, fewer complications, great maintenance patients with spinal mobility and stability.
