Abstract
Objective: To observe the neuroprotection of 2-(2-benzofuranyl)-2-imidazoline(2-BFI) on the expression of Bcl-2/Bax after cerebral ischemia reperfusion(CIR).Methods: Tran-sient focal ischemia was induced by suture occlusion of the middle cerebral artery in rats and then randomized into sham group, model group,2-BFI treatment group(3 mg/kg).After 24 h of CIR,brain tissues of rats were selected. The expressions of Bcl-2/Bax in brain were examined with immunohistochemistry. Results: Treatment with 2-BFI could significantly im-prove the number of Bcl-2,compared with model rats(P 0.01),reduce the positive cell numbers of Bax compared with vehicle-treated rats(P 0.01,both).Conclusion: 2-BFI can significantly increase the expression of Bcl-2,down-regulates the expression of Bax.
