Abstract
The main aim of information integration for gas field is to achieve automatic information exchange among autonomous,dis-tributed and heterogeneous data sources, and to give user a uniform global data view.As a service oriented distributed computing tech-nology,web services provide a framework to build complex web based loosely-coupled distributed systems. The basic approaches of information integration based on Web services are discussed.Web services based information integration system architecture is presented for gas field enterprise, and metadata based information integration approach is proposed. The system uses XML as the standard for data representation and exchange, and is of higher flexibility and maintainability.
