Abstract
Objective To investigate the prognostic factors of colorectal cancer patients with liver metastasis. Methods Clinical data of 67 colorectal cancer patients with liver metastasis were analyzed retrospectively.Prognostic factors were explored by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis to find out independent prognostic factors. In order variables which were associated on single-variable analysis with significant differences in Kaplan-Meier survival analysis were entered into a multivariate Cox regression model. Results The median overall survival time of 67 patients was 10 months, and Kaplan-Meier single-variable analysis showed that primary tumor differentiation degree, the number of liver metastasis, maximum diameter of liver metastases, treatment mode of hepatic metastasis and the number of other distant metastasis were statistically significant prognostic factors.Cox regression analysis showed that the above-mentioned five factors in patients with liver metastasis were independent prognostic factors.Single-variable analysis showed that 16 elderly patients(70 ≤age80) with advanced colorectal cancer didn't have different survival time in the BSC group and the chemotherapy group. Conclusion Patients with better tumor differentiation, single liver metastasis, liver metastasis maximum diameter5cm and with fewer other distant metastases will have a longer survival time.Local treatment combined with systematic chemotherapy is superior to a single therapy.
