Prevention of the cervical branch of the facial nerve in rhyticlectomy of separating SMAS:an anatomical study

Objective Offer the anatomy basis for preventing the facial nerve neck from being damaged in rhyticlectomy of separating SMAS.Methods On 12 fresh samples and 8 antiseptic samples,to dissect and observe the course of the cervical branch of the facial nerve ,its' distributing and adjoining,we establish the system of relevant coordinate,and get the site-specific coordinate parameter in the body surface and the distribution characteristic of the cervical branch of the facial nerve.Results After the following the most prominence spot of jaw angle is the origin o of system coordinates,the coordinate value that the left cervical branch of the facial nerve were:(14.0mm,28.6±4.1 mm)、(10.0mm,6.2±2.7mm)、(6.0 mm,-6.8±3.0 mm)、(2.0 mm,-16.2±4.5 mm)、(0.0 mm,-18.0±3.5 mm)、(-2.0 mm,-21.8±4.2 mm)、(-6.0 mm,-28.0±3.4 mm)、(-10.0 mm,-32.4±4.3 mm)。The coordinate value that the right cervical branch of the facial nerve were:(-18.0mm,24.2±5.1mm)、(-14.0mm,10.2±4.5mm)、(-10.0mm,-0.1±4.3mm)、(-6.0mm,-9.8±5.4mm)、(-2.0mm,-15.4±6.7mm)、(0.0mm,-18.0±5.8mm)、(2.0mm,-19.8±5.6mm)、(6.0mm,-22.8±4.9mm)、(10.0mm,-26.0±6.2mm)、(14.0mm,-29.2±5.3mm)、(18.0mm,-31.8±5.7mm).Conclusion The clinician is familiar with the position and coruse of the facial nerve neck ,is favorable reducing the damage of the cervical branch of the facial nerve in rhyticlectomy of separating.
