Abstract

Objective To investigate the MRI diagnosis and antidiastole of Chiari malformation, and evaluate the diagnostic value of MRI in Chiari malformation. Method MRI data of 52 cases with Chiari malformation were collected. Results The cerebellar tonsils herniated 5~20mm below the foramen magnum. Among all the cases, 15 had hydrocephalus, 32 had syringomyelia, 1 had both of them, and 3 combined with fasilar impression. Conclusion MRI can clearly reveal the formation of meta cranial fossa and boundary between skull and cervical part, and reveal the basalis and others dysplasia, so it acts as the best imaging examination method for Chiari malformation.
