Abstract
The limit load of the pressure piping with the pit defect on the external wall under the axial moment was researched using the ANSYS finite element analysis software, the finite element model was established for the pressure piping, the computed results from the finite element model were verified, expanding process of plastic zone of the piping structure was given through the researched results, regularity of influence of the pit's geometric size on the limit load values of piping was analyzed. The result indicates that the computed results from the finite element model are comparatively tallied with the actually measured values.
