Abstract

Objective:To research the effect and safety of propofol anesthesia with small dose of midazolam in patients undergoing gastroscopy. Methods:Thirty patients were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n=15) and anesthesia group (n=15). The control group was not given anesthetic intravenously during gastroscopy. The anesthesia group (n=15) was intravenously given with propofol and small dose midazolam, the patients were performed gastroscopy in unconscious status. Patient′s response , BP、HR and SpO 2 were observed, feeling of the patients were questioned, proceeding times and rate of success were recorded. Results:HR、BP were lower in anesthesia group than those in control group(P0.05 ).There was not remarkable difference in SpO 2 、proceeding times and rate of success. Compared with control group, side effects of patients were reduced in anesthesia group. Data in anesthesia group showed fewer complaints, higher satisfaction. Conclusion:With use of propofol and small dose midazolam, gastroscopy can be achieved effectively, painlessly, comfortable and safely.
