Abstract
Objective Comparison study of behavioral and histological changes between pilocarpine-induced epilepsy model and pentylenetetrazole kindling model in the neonatal rat,to lay the foundation of the experiment model selection. Methods SD neonate rats were selected as the research object. Two different epilepsy models were made to observe the behavioral changes and Nissl staining changes at different time points. Results Two different epilepsy models have their characteristic behavioral changes. No neuron loss and mossy fiber sprouting were found in pilocarpine kindling model. No neuron loss were found with mossy fiber sprouting in pentylenetetrazole statural epilepsy model. Conclusion Pilocarpine induced status epilepticus mouse model is an ideal temporal epilepsy model, and the mossy fiber sprouting is a typical morphological character for evaluating the SE model.
