Abstract

Background and aim: Information visualization is a new research focus in the field of information science,and the application of related technologies are more and more popular in the bio-medical literature statistics and knowledge discovery, the aim of this study is to reveal the development status of bio-medical information visualization by the literatures' statistical analysis. Data sources: By retrieving the Chinese Bio-medical Literature Database,the literature information related to the information visualization is accessed. Results and analyses: In order to reveal the distribution laws of the literatures,a statistical analysis on literature's publishing year,author,unit,source,fund and content are analyzed. Conclusions: The information visualization has become a research hotspot of medical information,however,the lack of visualization software for Chinese database and the insufficient innovation ability still restrict the further development of information visualization.
