Abstract

Objective To explore the risk factors for gout by comparing the defenses in metabolic syndrome various components between patients with gout and asymptomatic hyperuricemia. Methods Totally 34 patients with gout were enrolled as trial group and 63 patients with asymptomatic hyperuricemia as control group.Single and multi-factors analysis methods were adopted to analyze the differences in metabolic syndrome various components such as BMI,waistline, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride and cholesterol between the two groups so as to detect the risk factors. Results Single factor analysis results showed that the differences between the two groups in fasting blood glucose showed statistically significance(P0.05).Logistic regression analysis results showed that OR value of fasting blood glucose was 3.100(P0.05).Conclusion Fasting blood glucose is a risk factor of incident gout in asymptomatic hyperuricemia.
