Debate About "Black White Horse

The author of the Debate About Black White Horse thinks that the wordcong——a black white horse——has a meaning which is different from the explanation of Xushen in later poetry. The possible reasons are Mr Xu explained it improperly or the meaning of conghas changed. But a lot of ancient books and records have proved that Mr Xu's explanation——congmeans a black horse with mixed white hair——is proper, and the later writers expand the meaning of cong, so it is a little different from Xu's view. Therefore, when we use the word cong, we should be aware of the differences——its meaning in dictionaries and its meaning in ancient hooks.
