Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effects of the combination of TCM and western medicine on the severe acute ancreatitis.Methods Routine treatments,such as intensive care,gastrointestinal decompression,redress of the water-electrolyte balance,parenteral nutrition,ware applied to all the patients,together with using antibiotic,proton pump inhibitor and growth hormone release inhibiting.On the TCM aspect,herbal medicine was used to adjust the function of pancreas.Results 23 patients were treated using above-mentioned methods.One died and the others fully recovered.The death rate and cure rate were 4.3% and 95.7% respectively.Conclusion Combination of TCM and western medicine is an effective method to heal severe acute ancreatitis with reduced complication and enhanced euccess in rescuing.
