Abstract
Results from the field experiment indicated that both sowing date and plant density produced significant effect to the yield of small-pod peanut planted in spring and mulched with plastic film and the later was more remarkable than the former. Therefore, small-pod peanut should be given enough plant density to get higher yield. The maximum yield can reach as high as 4,760.0 kg/ha when the sowing date was on 28, April and the plant density was 172,800 holes/ha. The mean pod yield will be reduced 203.9kg/ha with every 5 days the peanut being sowed ahead before 28, April and will be reduced 260kg/ha with every 5 days the sowing date being put off after 28, April. Sowing date and plant density presented positive interaction and the optimum plant density should be increased 5,540 holes/ha with every 5 days the sowing date being put off from 10, April to 20,May.
