Abstract
Some defects of FC-SAN such as limited transmitting distance, exorbitant cost and inconvenient management have been perceived recently. The newly developed technique of IP-SAN overcomes these defects. This article introduces the construction of SAN on the basis of iSCSI agreement. A detailed discussion of the difference between FC-SAN and IP-SAN and the advantage of IP-SAN application in digital library establishment is also presented.
