Abstract
This paper analyses the advantage and disadvantage of the passive power filter and active power filter used individually. By used hybrid shunt active power filter consisting of the active power filter and conventional LC filter in the system, this method overcomes the disadvantages of active filter power and passive power filter respectively. We used MATLAB, which is a simulation tool for power system. Experimental result confirms that the device hybrid shunt active power filter can compensate the harmonics perfectly, which is the same as the analysis result.
