Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of the evidence-based nursing in PICC inlying catheter of patients with rectum cancer. Methods From January 2011 to January 2012,80 patients with rectum cancer who underwent PICC for the first time were divided randomLy into observation group(n = 40) to receive the evidence-based Nursing programme and control group(n = 40) to receive the routine nursing programme.Comparisons were conducted on the success rate of puncture and first-time the incidences of complications at first, second and third month after PICC.Results The success rate of first-time puncture was 96.25%,after one month of PICC,no significant different was observed in the rate of complication. At second month after PICC catheter, significant differences were observed in the incidents of phlebitis and infections between the two groups. At third month after PICC catheter, significant differences were observed in infections and the catheter blockage between the two groups. Conclusion Compared with the routine nursing programme, the evidence-based nursing programme is more effective in decreasing the incidence of complications after PICC catheter.
