The Universal Ability Standards and Professional Development of Secondary Vocational School Teachers

Based on analyzing the current state of teachers' cultivation and training in secondary vocational schools in China,and by learning from the advanced experience both in China and other countries,our research is to establish a set of universal ability standards to evaluate the necessary knowledge,skills and suitable attitude of vocational teachers, which will also be the standards or evidence to train and assess vocational teachers.The research on the universal ability standards of secondary vocational school teachers involves the following eight aspects: the ability of demonstrating and imparting occupational ethics,the ability of keeping in touch with the profe.~ions,the ability of exploring the curriculum, the ability of designing teaching and implementing,the ability of guiding the occupational health and safety,the ability of improving professional development,the ability of educational communication and cooperation,the ability of guiding how to obtain employment and doing pioneering work.It is valuable both on theory and practice for perfecting the rules of the admission of vocational teachers,promoting vocational school teachers' professional development and optimizing the teaching staffs.
