Abstract

Regional concentration of economy results from aggregation of many production factors, which play an important role in the markets of the region or the world. Regional cities as growth centers for the regional concentration of economy must reach a reasonable scale to accelerate the regional economic development. The change of regional industrial structure is a determinant factor in the process of regional concentration of economy. Regional concentration of economy originally appears in the industrialization areas, and then goes up to a higher level after the regional industrial structure changes into such an economic system characterized by service-type. Hainan Province should pay more attention to promoting the process of industrialization, and Haikou, the capital of the province, should make full use of all its advantages to play the role of the growth center for the regional economic development.
