Abstract
A molecular imprinted polymer was prepared by the molecular imprinting technique using butyl-phydroxybenzoate, methacrylic acid, ethylene dimethacrylate and polyvinyl alcohol respectively as template, functional monomer,cross-linker and dispersant in chloroform via suspension polymerization. The molecular imprinted polymer obtained was investigated in batch-adsorption experiment. The results indicated that the molecular imprinted polymer exhibited faster adsorption for butyl-p-hydroxybenzoate and that the apparent maximum number of the binding sites was calculated to be nearly 270 μg/g. Scatchard analysis showed that two classes of binding sites were formed in the imprinted polymer under the studied concentration range.
