Abstract

A molecularly imprinted polymer highly selective for acetaniprid was prepared by molecular imprinting technique with methacrylic acid as function monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross linker. Its selectivity to acetaniprid was evaluated by batch adsorption experiments, which showed that acetaniprid-imprinted polymer exhibited higher affinity to acetaniprid compared to non-imprinted polymer. Scatchard analysis indicated that there were two classes of recognition sites in acetaniprid-imprinted polymer, which had different affinity to acetaniprid. Furthermore, acetaniprid-imprinted polymer displayed higher selectivity for acetaniprid than imidacloprid. The results in this study show that the acetaniprid-imprinted polymer can be used to selectively adsorb acetaniprid.
