Abstract
Objective To detected the expression level of extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer(EMMPRIN)and matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9)protein in human gastric cancer, and evaluated its relationship with the clinic pathological parameters and the role in the carcinogenesis and growth of gastric cancer. Methods Expression level of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein in 72 cases of gastric cancer and correspondent adjacent normal tissues was examined by immunohistochemistry envision plus method. Results ①The positive rate of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 were significantly lower in normal tissues(21.7% and 19.2%)than in gastric cancer(79.2% and 82.5%,P0.05).No correlation were found between expression level of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 and patients sex and age(P0.05).Expression level of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein decreased in stageⅠand Ⅱ of gastric cancer as compared to stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P0.01).The positive rate of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 were lower in well differentiation tissues than in poor differentiation tissues(P0.01)and was higher in gastric cancer with lymph node metastasis than in those without lymph node metastasis(P0.05).The positive rate of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 was positively correlated to the extent of invasiveness.2.A significant positive relationship was observed between the expression of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein in gastric cancer(r=0.591,P0.001).Conclusion The expression level of EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein was closely related to biological behavior of gastric cancer.EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein in gastric cancer were associated.EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein in the process of invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer may exist in synergy.EMMPRIN and MMP-9 protein can be used as invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer to determine the index.
