Abstract
PLA fibers are new green biodegradable fibers. PLA fibers can spin by two conventional methods: solution spinning and melt spinning. In this paper, special mention is given to melt spinning process of PLA fibers because of its industrialisation perspective. The material pretreatment, spinning process and influence factors of fiber structure and properties are summarized and reviewed in detail. In addition, electrospinning method that can produce PLA micro-fibers is introduced.
