Abstract
The molding methods and the applications of fibers of poly(lactic acid)(PLA)and its copolymers or blendings,which have high strength and controlled degradable rate,are reviewed.The characteristics of melt-spinning,solution spinning,electrospinning,supercritical fluid technique and gelation freeze-drying are summarized in detail,and the effect of molding process on the morphologic structure and performance of the fibers are discussed.The new study methods and new products of PLA fibers are introduced.The PLA fibers with high performance have been widely used in the biomedicine,household goods.
