Investigation of the therapeutic effects of reinforcing-kidney and stasis-dissolving herbs on Primary Nephrotic Syndrome in Hormone Maintenance Stage

Objective To observe curative effect of reinforcing-kidney and stasis-dissolving herbs on pri-mary nephrotic syndrome in hormone maintenance stage. Methods Ninety patients of primary nephrotic syndrome in hormone maintenance stage were randomized into two groups: forty-five cases in treatment group and forty-five ca-ses in control group. Control group received only hormone treatment. Treatment group received reinforcing-kidney and stasis-dissolving herbs on the basis of hormone treatment. Efficacy of treatment was studied after six months of treat-ment. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 84. 62%,obviously higher than 58. 33% of control group( P 0. 05). In treatment group,the clinical symptoms and 24 hours urinary protein before and after treatment were compared,the difference was significant( P 0. 05 or P 0. 01). The endpoint events rate in treatment group was lower than that in control group. Conclusion The curative effect of reinforcing-kidney and stasis-dissolving herbs on primary nephrotic syndrome in hormone maintenance stage was obviously better than the treatment of simple hor-mone.
