Abstract

[Objective]To study the efficacy and safety of paliperidone sustained-release tablets and ziprasidone tablets for schizophrenia. [Methods]60 patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into the study group(paliperidone,30 cases) and the control group(ziprasidone,30 cases),and two groups were observed for 8 weeks. The efficacy was assessed by positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS) before and at the end of 1,2,4 and 8 weeks of treatment respectively. The safety was evaluated by physical examination, laboratory examination, electrocardiogram examination and collecting other adverse events. [Results]The obvious effective rate and effective rate of the study group was 73.3% and 86.7%,that of the control group was 70.0% and 80.0% respectively, and there was no significant difference between two groups(P0.05).The adverse reactions of two groups were mild, and the difference in incidence of adverse reactions between two groups was not significant(P0.05). [Conclusion]Paliperidone sustained-release tablets and ziprasidone tablets have similar effect on schizophrenia.
